Kia ora, my name is Liam Hendry. I first got exposure to NZSBA during my attendance of the annual conference and AGM last year as a student representative for Glendowie College. Campaigning for the voices of rangatahi has been something I have worked hard towards over the last few years, and I see it as a great opportunity to be a speaker at this years conference.

An olympic weightlifter, former rower, debater, scholarship student, and service committee member, I like to think I have been able to access a broad range of perspectives, ideals and concerns that students share.

I’ve had the chance to do and see some incredible things on this journey, an alumnus of Yale University’s Young Global Scholars, and the recipient of several honours achieved during my journey increasing the visibility of rangatahi. Coming back to continue my work in a new way since graduation is something i am incredibly proud to do, and I hope to continue to set a precedent for the young people who come after me.
